Executive Summary

Business Description: Eprida has developed technology which it is licensing and providing consulting services to help establish an open source business platform for waste processing, energy production and carbon sequestration. Eprida has successfully demonstrated the most cost effective method of producing hydrogen (estimated at $1.50/ gal gasoline equiv) according to a DOE study. The company offers design services for small to large scale processing to convert agricultural and organic waste biomass into valuable coproducts. The carbon negative technology offers a solution for stabilizing, and eventually reversing, global greenhouse gas emissions. Initial R&D has successfully demonstrated the core technology and the company is currently facilitating the development for client companies in several niche markets.

Technology: The Eprida technology uses agricultural waste biomass to produce hydrogen-rich bio-fuels and a new restorative high-carbon fertilizer (ECOSS). The process actually removes net CO2 from the air by stabilizing carbon in the topsoil where it is needed. In tropical or depleted soils ECOSS fertilizer sustainably improves soil fertility, water holding and plant yield far beyond what is possible with nitrogen fertilizers alone.

Markets: The Eprida process simultaneously creates value in three markets
in this order at today’s prices:

1. High value plant extractives
2. Energy: a propane equivalent fuel, from biomass
3. Fertilizer: agricultural soil restoration, carbon enriched with nitrogen

Unlike other biomass gasification, the Eprida process can be designed to be profitable in certain small scale applications, i.e. extracting high value essential oils, converting nuisance waste biomass into fuel and fertilizer. The Eprida process can convert woody plant materials that cannot be cost effectively fermented. It also can be used to convert animal and human waste into an inert charcoal. Also, unlike virtually all other approaches for biomass to energy, which deplete soil nutrients, the Eprida process restores and enhances soil mineral, carbon and nitrogen content. As a direct result of this new approach to integrated energy and fertilizer production from biomass, the Eprida process effectively removes net CO2 from the atmosphere, and can do so profitably before the value of any carbon credits are even considered.
